Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bus Monitor/Aide to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students while in transit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the welfare of passengers while in route and communicate any concerns to the driver.
  • Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is safe and ready for operation.
  • Assist students in the loading and unloading process, ensuring their safety and security.
  • Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, students, and parents to ensure a smooth and safe transportation experience.
  • Attend all safety and training meetings to stay up-to-date on the latest safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus, including the use of emergency doors.
  • Clean the inside of the bus to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist the driver when necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards.

Requirements

  • Good verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Attention to detail to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
  • Early morning availability to accommodate our early morning routes.
  • Judgement and problem-solving skills to handle unexpected situations.
  • Ability to manage high degrees of stress in a fast-paced environment.
