Crescent City, CA

Tuesday- Friday

6:30am- 5:00pm

Pay rate: $54.00- $60.00/ hr (Traveler Rate)

Weekly Pay via Direct Deposit

Responsibilities

As a Recreational Therapist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing specialized recreation therapy services to promote social interaction, encourage beneficial and appropriate utilization of leisure time, and provide preparation for reentry into general population or other levels of treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recreation therapy services to meet the needs of patients-inmates and/or DJJ youth.
  • Participate in the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) and coordinate services with primary clinicians, correctional counselors, and other custody personnel.
  • Evaluate recreation therapy needs for patients-inmates and/or DJJ youth, with particular attention to activities of daily living, communication skills, physical exercise, and positive coping strategies.

Requirements:

Certified Recreational Therapist (CTRS) or National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)

Experience working in a correctional facility or similar setting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
