Position Summary

The Radiologic Technician will be responsible for operating imaging machinery to obtain diagnostic images, adhering to protocols established by Radiologists and Emergency Room Physicians. This role emphasizes patient positioning to ensure precise imaging outcomes while implementing radiation safety protocols to safeguard both patients and healthcare personnel.

Key responsibilities include conducting CT imaging, administering contrast agents, and maintaining accurate documentation of procedures. The primary goal is to prioritize patient safety and satisfaction while delivering high-quality diagnostic results.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to departmental and operational standards
  • Maintain and sanitize imaging equipment
  • Communicate procedures clearly to patients
  • Prepare patients adequately for imaging sessions
  • Follow safety protocols to reduce radiation exposure
  • Stay informed on current Radiology and CT practices
  • Manage radiology equipment and perform minor maintenance
  • Utilize appropriate body mechanics during procedures
  • Engage in effective communication with colleagues
  • Comply with safety and infection control guidelines
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Uphold patient confidentiality
  • Deliver excellent customer service
  • Follow Emergency Room policies and procedures
  • Perform additional assigned tasks as needed

Supervisory Role: None

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- At least 1 year of experience in radiologic/imaging with a focus on CT

Language/Math/Reasoning Skills

Proficient in reading, writing, and presenting information
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Basic computer proficiency

Licenses/Certifications

Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Current State licensure
- Valid BCLS Certification

Physical Requirements

This position requires physical capabilities such as lifting, standing for extended periods, and possessing good vision to perform tasks effectively.

Work Environment

A dynamic work setting characterized by moderate noise levels.
