We are seeking a highly skilled Thermal Simulation Engineer to join our team at ZT Systems. As a key member of our engineering group, you will play a critical role in the development of thermal components and systems from concept to engineering release.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement thermal simulation methods and integrate them into our engineering development processes.
- Troubleshoot thermal and airflow issues in new and existing product lines using empirical data and commercial CFD software.
- Work with our engineering team to optimize the thermal performance of servers using empirical data and commercial CFD software.
- Optimize airflow speed, volume, and flow paths to meet customer and component requirements.
- Interface with our Firmware team to implement preliminary fan speed control parameters and algorithms.
- Support custom engineering projects that require hands-on ability to interconnect complex server systems.
- Produce thermal reports from CFD modeling and experimental experience.
- Manage ECO processes and provide validation for design modifications.
- Analyze and solve technical problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Produce engineering documents, including design drawings and installation manuals.
- Support procurement teams to identify and manage 3rd party vendors.
- Conduct liquid cooling component surveys, studies, and simulations.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. A Master's Degree or PhD is highly desirable.
- Strong commercial CFD software skills, preferably with FloTherm.
- Strong engineering mathematics background, including numerical methods, linear algebra, or statistical methods.
- Strong knowledge of heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
- 3D CAD software skills, preferably with Creo or SolidWorks.
- Comfortable working in a lab and fast-paced environment.
- Advanced engineering analysis ability, including linear or nonlinear regression analysis or data visualization.
- Programming skills, such as LabVIEW and scripted languages like Python, are a plus.
- Experience with testing is a plus.
