Job Title: Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at IASIS Healthcare.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will work closely with our healthcare providers to deliver exceptional patient care and support the smooth operation of our clinical team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist providers with delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Take vital signs, record patient history, and enter accurate information into our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Obtain required consents, complete necessary forms, and perform in-office testing and EKGs as needed.
  • Administer vaccines and medications as ordered by the provider, adhering to our policies and procedures.
  • Stock rooms, monitor expiration dates of exam room supplies, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Answer incoming calls, triage, and route telephone calls appropriately, following our scheduling rules and direct schedules patient visits in other SMG practices.
  • Review schedules to ensure the provider has necessary information for patient visits.
  • Perform outreach to select patient groups, schedule specialty appointments and testing as required, and inform the manager of clinical supply needs or assist with ordering.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Education from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent.
  • One to three years of experience as a medical assistant preferred.
  • Strong customer service excellence expected.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Experience with EMR systems, preferably Athena, and Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
