Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide education and support to youth, adults, and guardians regarding mental health services, systems, and medications. This role will also serve as a liaison between the Agency and various organizations within the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with clients to collect vital signs, review medication benefits, and discuss side effects
  • Assure informed consents for medications and provide information for proper dispensing
  • Communicate medication, behavioral, or primary health concerns to psychiatric providers, guardians, and clients' therapists
  • Document concerns in clients' charts and monitor as needed
  • Complete prior authorizations with insurance companies and return phone calls from pharmacies
  • Review laboratory test results and discuss concerns with psychiatric providers
  • Work collaboratively with mental health therapists regarding behavioral health concerns and outcomes
  • Ensure completion of required documentation in clients' charts
Requirements
  • Spanish speaking preferred
  • LPN from a recognized accredited school of nursing
  • Two years of nursing experience is preferred
  • Ability to relate well to children and other staff members
