Principal Maintenance Electrician

This role is based in a dynamic manufacturing environment and the incumbent will provide maintenance support operating in a 24/7 operations setting, supporting multiple buildings and complex equipment. The maintenance technician is responsible for performing highly diversified facility and production equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform regular preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on facility and production equipment and systems.
- Use hand and power tools as well as other equipment to perform electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and other repairs and maintenance.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers, support operations, and drive process improvement initiatives.
- Support all safety and lean initiatives within the department and facility.
- Install, relocate, alter, and modify existing facility and test cell systems, equipment, and operational capabilities.
- Schedule and coordinate work of outside contractors and vendors to ensure adherence to specifications, building codes, and project completion schedules.
- Strong industrial electrical experience in general maintenance or facility maintenance.
- Working knowledge of maintenance lift equipment, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
- Respond to service requests with little or no supervision and direction without interrupting operations.
- Understanding of lockout / tagout procedures.
- Knowledgeable of PLC logic principles and operations.
- Proven troubleshooting skills encompassing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Extensive knowledge of electricity and electrical systems (AC/DC systems, relays, switches, fuses, breakers, motors).
- Team player with passion for customer service, problem solving, learning and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a safe work environment by documenting and correcting potential safety issues and complying with all safety regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Applications.
- Deep understanding and expertise in specific fields of facilities and maintenance such as electrical, construction, HVAC (heating, ventilation, & air conditioning), and/or maintenance of building infrastructures.
- Journey Electrician license.
- Must be able to read PLC ladder logic and be able to transfer data from PLCs to laptops and back.
- Proficient in safely handling voltages ranging from milliamps up to 600 volts AC, along with expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing electric motors and components.
- Familiarity with modern construction, building codes and practices.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment according to local and national electrical codes.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and building drawings and schematics.
- Identify, specify, source and order supplies and equipment.
- Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) systems.
