Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Job Summary:

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with patients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote functional independence and overall well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients' physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities and their impact on daily living activities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and functional goals.
  • Provide and/or fabricate assistive devices and/or splints to enhance patients' functional independence.
  • Monitor and evaluate outcomes and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Identify factors affecting patients' physical and psychosocial comfort and attend to these needs.
  • Plan for and complete patient discharge, including providing written home programs, patient/family teaching, referral for community services, and ordering equipment.
  • Complete all required documentation, including patient progress notes, team conference reports, discharge summaries, and records of patient care and progress.

Requirements:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Occupational Therapist license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • No experience required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, and squat throughout the workday.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
  • Lift up to 10 lbs. from waist to overhead.
  • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
  • Perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
