About the Role

The Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team in a critical role. As a Crisis Response Physician Assistant, you will provide comprehensive care to individuals experiencing mental health crises. Job Summary:

  • Provide direct patient care, including psychiatric evaluations, re-evaluations, and dispositions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and promote recovery.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Clinical Duties:
    • Provides direct clinical/patient care duties and responsibilities as required.
    • Obtains detailed history and develops patient care charts.
    • Performs physical examinations and evaluations on assigned patients.
  • Coordinated Care:
    • Coordinates medical services with nurse on duty and other healthcare providers.
    • Notifies attending physician on call and supervising physician regarding any unusual or unexpected events or problems requiring direct physician consultation.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Maintains accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records.
    • Completes clinical documentation as required.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree and completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program.
  • Two (2) years of professional clinical experience in a behavioral healthcare or mental health setting.
  • Licensure as a Physician Assistant and continuing certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants.
