We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Systems Engineer to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) Program, you will play a critical role in modernizing and consolidating the operational environment for the US Coast Guard (CG).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Architecture and Development: Collaborate with clients and the IMS team to drive architecture and development decision-making, ensuring alignment with the program's goals and objectives.

  • Service Transition and Support: Ensure smooth operations by collaborating closely with developers and service line owners to diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance micro-service-based software capabilities, delivering software that resonates positively with users as a valuable enabler.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, master's degree with 6+ years of experience, or high school diploma/GED with 12+ years of experience.
  • Citizenship and Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required; must have an active Secret clearance.
  • Cloud Computing Skills: Proficiency in developing and administering AWS and Azure Gov Cloud environments in compliance with DoD standards, with a stronger bias for Azure.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IAC) Tools: Proficient in using industry-standard IAC tools, such as GitLab, Ansible, and Terraform, for building and managing service components.
  • Programming Languages: Strong skills in Python, Java, and C# development languages, as well as scripting languages like Linux, BASH, and SHELL.
  • Networking Concepts: Familiarity with networking concepts and practical experience involving technologies like Load Balancers, DNS, NACLs, SSL, Firewalls, NAT, and NTP.

  • Client Interaction: Direct experience proactively interacting with clients to define and achieve goals and objectives.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot operating systems and platform services effectively.
  • Production Systems: Experience handling large-scale production systems and adeptness in resolving production-related challenges.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with a keen interest in collaborative work environments.
  • Continuous Learning: Enthusiasm for skill and capability growth, with a penchant for tackling intriguing challenges and addressing complex problems.
