ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will undertake skilled maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of vehicles, including passenger cars, trucks, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, and powered hand tools.

Your responsibilities will encompass performing essential services such as oil changes, mechanical diagnostics, tune-ups, tire replacements, engine overhauls, cooling system repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and brake system maintenance.

You will also conduct official state safety and emissions inspections on vehicles within your licensing class, ensuring that all repairs adhere to regulatory standards.

Additionally, you will complete necessary documentation, conduct road tests on vehicles, and affix inspection stickers as mandated by state regulations.

This position involves working on diesel machinery, performing tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, water pump servicing, and repairs on electrical, cooling, suspension, and driveline systems.

You will also be responsible for making field adjustments to equipment to ensure safe operation and minimize wear.


Emergency road service may be required, and you may perform maintenance and repairs in outdoor settings as necessary. Furthermore, you will conduct burning and cutting operations using oxy/acetylene torches when required. This role involves procuring parts and supplies as needed and may include assisting in providing OEM information to procurement personnel. You will demonstrate repair techniques to fellow employees and collaborate with other Diesel Mechanics on significant equipment repairs. Maintaining accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs will also be part of your duties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time position
Standard work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break.

Schedules may vary due to weather or seasonal changes; winter shifts may be from 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.


Compensation:
In certain instances, the starting salary may be fixed.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
A minimum of four years of experience in the automotive mechanic field; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
Any combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirements:
This position requires possession of a current and valid Pennsylvania Class C driver's license.
This position requires possession of a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Class 1 Certified Inspection Mechanic certification.

Post Employment Requirements:
This position requires possession of a CFC-12 Refrigerant Recycling Certificate and a 134A Refrigerant Recycling Certificate (can be obtained after starting the position).

Additional Requirements:
You must be capable of performing essential job functions.
