Licensed Practical Nurse for Embryo Transfer

CNY Fertility is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our patients through the Embryo Transfer process at our Syracuse facility. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail while being a flexible and collaborative team member. This role primarily involves weekday shifts, with the expectation of participating in weekend and holiday rotations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients by preparing them for examinations and recording vital signs, medical history, and any significant changes.
  • Administer prescribed injections and perform phlebotomy procedures with precision.
  • Collect and accurately label specimens as per laboratory requisitions.
  • Ensure timely transportation of specimens to the laboratory for analysis.
  • Initiate, maintain, and discontinue IV lines under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate healthcare records.
  • Report any concerns or changes in patient condition to the supervising RN or physician.
  • Communicate and document laboratory results under the guidance of a healthcare provider.
  • Process prescriptions as directed by the physician.
  • Keep examination rooms clean, stocked, and organized.
  • Assist physicians during embryo transfer procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing training, conferences, and professional development opportunities relevant to the role.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • High school diploma or GED, along with one year of technical training.
  • Graduation from an accredited LPN/LVN School of Nursing.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in medical terminology.
  • Demonstrated skill in administering injections and performing venipunctures.
  • Effective time management abilities.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Valid Licensed Practical Nurse License.
