The Department of Veterans Affairs is looking for a skilled Neurologist specializing in headache management to become part of our dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive patient care for both outpatient and inpatient individuals with neurological conditions.
  • Participate in the management of the inpatient neurology unit and neurology consultation services, providing supervision and education to residents and students, while also handling on-call duties, which may include clinical responsibilities during weekends.
  • Engage in the operation of headache clinics and other specialized clinics focusing on therapeutic interventions, including the use of Botulinum toxin for headache relief.
  • Function autonomously in the establishment of a new headache clinic dedicated to outpatient care.
  • Collaborate effectively within a large, multifaceted organization, ensuring cooperation across various services.
  • Contribute to clinical research and academic initiatives as assigned, collaborating with both the VA and affiliated educational institutions.
  • May involve participation in telehealth services with Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday (Including On-Call duties)

Retirement Plan:

  • Funding for the pension includes a mandatory contribution of 4.4% of salary from employees, with the VA contributing 12.2% of the employee's salary each pay period, totaling 16.6% annually.
  • The TSP allows employees to defer a portion of their income each year, with specific limits based on age.
  • Additional contributions from the Federal Government include an automatic basic contribution of 1% of salary and matching contributions up to 4%, depending on employee contributions.
  • Retired military personnel receive these benefits in addition to their full monthly retirement pay or pension.
  • Healthcare insurance coverage is also provided for retired personnel.
  • Disability Retirement: Available for eligible employees.
  • Employees become vested in a federal pension after just 5 years of service.
