Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Manager to join our team at King Soopers. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Meat and Seafood department to achieve sales and profit goals, while ensuring exceptional customer service and a safe and clean shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Meat and Seafood department.
    • Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return.
    • Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  • Customer Service
    • Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
    • Answer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Inventory and Merchandising
    • Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions.
    • Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
  • Training and Development
    • Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO).
    • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained.
    • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Previous experience in a retail or food service management role preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to handle stressful situations.
    • Basic math skills (i.e., counting, addition, and subtraction).
