About this Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Dental Hygiene Educator to join our team at Palm Beach State College. As a tenure-track faculty member, you will be responsible for instructing college students in accordance with educational theories and techniques.

Developing discipline-related curricula, assessing student learning, participating in program evaluation, and serving on committees are key responsibilities of this role. You will also be expected to maintain college and department standards in support of the College's mission and strategic plan.

This is a 168-day, tenure-track position, and you will be on track for a continuing contract. Faculty members teach 45 points, maintain office hours, and college business hours, which may include serving on committees and work teams, meetings, and special projects.

Palm Beach State's tenure-track professors must successfully complete a five-year continuing contract earning process for continued employment.

Teaching Assignment Hours

Teaching assignment hours vary, and you will be expected to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and on multiple campuses if needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be a graduate of a program accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
  • Current state Dental Hygiene licensure; OR current State of Florida licensed Dentist
  • Must have clinical experience
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and on multiple campuses if needed
  • Teaching and occupational experience recognized
  • Ability to demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom; must be able to use the technology required for the assigned course
  • Must demonstrate cultural competency to engage and work with a diverse student and employee population
