JOB SUMMARY

The Produce Preparation Specialist is tasked with assisting the line leader in daily operations while ensuring a safe, organized, and efficient environment on the production line. This role involves proactively identifying and analyzing issues, recommending suitable actions to enhance performance to the line leader. The specialist ensures that high-quality produce is prepared and available for daily operations at an acceptable productivity level.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Achieves standard production rates for assigned lines and communicates with leadership when standards are not met.
  • Monitors production performance metrics.
  • Maintains a clean and safe workspace, ensuring readiness for sanitation processes, including floors, tables, cutting boards, and equipment.
  • Ensures quality specifications are met for unfinished products.
  • Prepares, cuts, and repacks products according to customer specifications.
  • Operates machinery such as potato peelers and bag sealers.
  • Responsible for the sanitation and cleanliness of the work area.
  • Adheres to sanitation and safety protocols for handling and production to SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards.
  • Colleagues must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
QUALIFICATIONS
Education

Preferably a High School diploma or GED, though not mandatory.

Experience
  • 1 year of production experience preferred.
  • Experience in a related industry is advantageous.
  • General understanding of processing procedures is preferred.
  • Experience in a high-volume warehouse or production facility is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP policies is beneficial.
  • Ability to use and handle sharp knives, peelers, and hand machines.
Skills:
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual abilities are preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Willingness to learn lean manufacturing processes.
Physical Demands
  • Able to lift and/or move weights between 25 lbs. to 50 lbs.
  • Must be capable of standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to stoop and bend frequently.
