We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Team Lead Technician to join our team at UCLA Health. As a key member of our Patient Transport and Lift Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients throughout the hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Position, transfer, and transport patients to and from various departments or locations using wheelchairs, beds, or gurneys.
- Lift, turn, transfer, and reposition patients requiring moderate to total assistance.
- Perform teaching and training functions, including dispatching and limited clerical duties.
- Maintain equipment, clean, and disinfect medical equipment.
- Assist in the management of decedent affairs.
- Train new hire staff and guide and instruct Patient Transport and Lift Team Techs on their duties.
- Serve as Department Safe Patient Handling Champion.
- Maintain daily shift activity logs and conduct administrative walkthroughs to ensure quality of work.
- Serve as Department liaison for service recoveries.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Understanding of basic medical terminology.
- Experience in patient transport or lift team.
- Ability to transport patients in medical equipment using correct body mechanics.
- Ability to follow established lift/transfer procedures in a safe and competent manner.
- Interpersonal skills to interact diplomatically and sensitively with patients.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in the English language.
- Maintain cooperative working relationship with co-workers and all hospital staff.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to complete assignments in a timely manner.
