Job Description and Duties

As a temporary employee of the California Exposition & State Fair, you will work under the general supervision of the Chief of Police to perform the duties of an operational Peace Officer at the annual California Exposition & State Fair and other events held on the facility grounds.

Responsibilities
  • Enforce all laws and regulations to ensure the safety and security of staff, vendors, contractors, and the general public.
  • Provide assistance and support to the Chief of Police and other law enforcement personnel as needed.
  • Conduct and complete other related duties for the orderly operation of the facility.
Working Conditions

As a Peace Officer, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to various hazards, including:

  • Fast-moving machinery or traffic.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures, airborne dust, fumes, vapors, chemicals, medical waste, and blood-borne pathogens.
Requirements
  • A valid California Driver's License (CDL) is required.
  • A Background Investigation must be cleared prior to being hired.
  • Medical Clearance is required prior to being hired.
  • A valid POST Basic Certificate and/or other government certification recognized by POST and acceptable to the Department is required.
  • Be of sound moral and ethical character sufficient to pass a comprehensive background investigation.
  • Possess adequate physical fitness and health to pass a medical clearance examination.
