Responsibilities:


As part of the CommonSpirit Health team, we are currently seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant for our busy Gastroenterology Clinic.

In this role, you will be an integral member of a collaborative care team, with no evening, weekend, or recognized holiday shifts required.

Position Details:


As a Medical Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide care and support to patients under the supervision of a physician or mid-level provider. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Welcoming and preparing patients for their appointments by recording vital signs and relevant medical history, including height, weight, allergies, current medications, and presenting concerns.
  • Assisting with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures, including blood draws and various types of injections.
  • Administering medications and vaccinations as directed.
  • Managing patient flow to ensure adequate time for education and discussion with patients and their families.
  • Preparing and sterilizing medical instruments, while maintaining a clean and organized patient care environment.
  • Coordinating patient appointments and performing other administrative tasks as required.
  • Engaging in ongoing education and participating in required meetings and committees.
  • Potentially performing medical scribe duties under the supervision of the attending provider, in accordance with established policies.


Qualifications:


To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Completion of a medical assisting program.
  • Successful completion of a 40-hour Medication Aide course or possess a current and valid certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
