About the Role

Oxford Knight is seeking a highly skilled AI Research Scientist to join our team of top minds in machine learning and engineering. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for leading an open-ended research project from concept to production, leveraging your expertise in machine learning to develop new ways to use Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate valuable insights from financial data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop impactful machine learning systems with real-world applications in industry and academia
  • Collaborate extensively with trading teams to understand requirements and constraints, and continuously improve model design, tools, and infrastructure
  • Find compelling problems well-suited to current and projected LLM capabilities, and develop innovative solutions to drive business growth
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning models into our trading platforms
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and LLMs, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our research and development efforts
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience building ML systems with real metrics and impact in industry and/or academia
  • Strong general ML background with some exposure to language modeling architectures (e.g. transformers, SSMs)
  • Solid development skills in Python and/or C++
  • Familiarity with ML libraries/frameworks such as PyTorch (preferred), TensorFlow, and/or JAX
  • Intellectual curiosity, versatility, and originality combined with a pragmatic outlook
  • Ability to reason through quantitative problems and communicate effectively with trading researchers
  • Reliable and predictable availability
