Job Title: Scenic Painter

Job Summary:
To provide a comprehensive scenic painting service that will be instrumental in maintaining and expanding Universal Orlando's resort-wide offerings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and gather necessary information, tools, and items for assigned painting tasks.
  • Apply faux finishes, such as wood graining, marbleizing, aging, sponging, and rag rolling.
  • Field color matching, picking colors, and mixing paint to achieve desired results.
  • Draw, layout, and paint backdrops and murals using airbrush techniques.
  • Paint or airbrush 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional fields and props.
  • Prep surfaces for painting, including cleaning, scraping, caulking, applying putty, sanding, patching, priming, and base painting.
  • Clean up paint areas, including picking up used tarps, scraping, removing tape, cleaning spills, resealing paint cans, and storing equipment.
  • Understand and participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy and procedures.

Requirements:
  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts, specializing in painting, drawing, or sculpture preferred.
  • Three years minimum experience considered 1st Tier, five years minimum experience considered 2nd Tier, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
