Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Evaluate and identify the changing dynamics that influence the present and future requirements of information technology and system relevance in healthcare, proposing strategies and initiatives to align with the organization's overarching goals.
  • Create formal strategic and tactical plans, ensuring accountability for achieving set objectives.
  • Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders across the organization to support the mission and goals of St. Croix Health.
Operational Oversight
  • Direct and assess the programs, systems, and resources related to access and care coordination, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Establish a governance framework for prioritizing and resolving resource conflicts associated with competing IT projects.
  • Formulate and enforce policies and procedures in line with industry benchmarks, ensuring staff compliance and competence.
  • Work with leadership to standardize practices and technology platforms, contributing to organization-wide evaluations of program effectiveness.
  • Manage workflows with a focus on enhancing the employee experience and ensuring a seamless patient care continuum.
Team Management and Development
  • Oversee the performance of direct reports and facilitate the planning and evaluation of subordinate staff.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels in alignment with operational objectives.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for staff, assessing competencies regularly.
  • Foster a proactive, service-oriented team environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to meet training requirements for technology use and system applications.
  • Strengthen relationships between physicians, clinicians, and the IT team to enhance operational engagement.
  • Encourage team development and problem-solving among ancillary services.
  • Mentor staff to promote skill enhancement and leadership potential.
Quality and Performance Enhancement
  • Continuously assess technology capacity and systems to meet quality and performance targets.
  • Act as a vital member of the management team, facilitating informed IT decisions.
  • Establish performance metrics for programs and staff, analyzing data to recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Evaluate existing systems and make recommendations for growth and service viability based on market analysis.
  • Plan and direct quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Financial Management
  • Determine the financial resources required to meet strategic performance goals, making recommendations accordingly.
  • Align and optimize resources to maintain the financial health of programs.
  • Implement effective cost control measures and address budgetary issues promptly.
  • Oversee the preparation of comprehensive financial reports and projections.
Regulatory Adherence
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards in IT functions, regularly monitoring for effective controls.
  • Maintain current knowledge of evolving regulatory standards and best practices.
Information Technology Leadership
  • Guide the development and implementation of the organization's IT systems.
  • Establish business continuity protocols to mitigate operational disruptions.
  • Analyze IT infrastructure performance to assess costs and productivity.
  • Oversee the security of systems and enterprise information.
  • Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications or a Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
  • At least 10 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • Experience in systems design and networking.
  • Familiarity with IT governance and project management best practices.
Skills:
  • Proven experience in project management and IT risk management.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor others effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of IT security best practices.
Physical Requirements:
