Job SummaryThe Residential Instructor is responsible for providing daily care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This role requires a high level of interpersonal skills, patience, and understanding of individual needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care and support to consumers, including assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and behavioral support.
- Implement and maintain individualized care plans, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety for consumers.
- Monitor and report any changes in consumer behavior, health, or well-being to the Residential Manager or designee.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with the Residential Manager and other team members to ensure a safe and healthy environment for consumers.
- Document all activities, incidents, and consumer interactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dual diagnosis.
- Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by our insurance company throughout employment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and physically intervene with consumers as required.
The Residential Instructor is directly accountable to the Residential Manager or designee.
