Job Summary

The Residential Instructor is responsible for providing daily care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This role requires a high level of interpersonal skills, patience, and understanding of individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct care and support to consumers, including assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and behavioral support.
  2. Implement and maintain individualized care plans, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety for consumers.
  3. Monitor and report any changes in consumer behavior, health, or well-being to the Residential Manager or designee.
  4. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  5. Collaborate with the Residential Manager and other team members to ensure a safe and healthy environment for consumers.
  6. Document all activities, incidents, and consumer interactions in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  2. Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dual diagnosis.
  3. Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by our insurance company throughout employment.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and physically intervene with consumers as required.
Accountability

The Residential Instructor is directly accountable to the Residential Manager or designee.
