Agricultural Laborers and Farmworkers

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced agricultural laborers and farmworkers to join our team at Illinois Foundation Seeds. As a farmworker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to crop production, including hand harvesting, planting, and maintenance.

• Hand harvesting and sorting of crops, including sweet corn, soybeans, and vegetables
• Planting and transplanting of crops
• Maintenance of crop fields, including irrigation, weeding, and fertilization
• Assisting with packing and shipping of crops
• Performing general farm maintenance and repairs

• Three months of experience in hand harvesting produce
• Able to furnish affirmative job references from recent employers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Physical ability to lift 75 pounds and work in a variety of weather conditions

Fieldwork begins at assigned time shortly after daylight. Work may be performed during light rain and in high humidity and in temperatures ranging from 110 degrees to below 20 degrees F. Workers will perform the majority of tasks standing in the upright position and can expect to stand on their feet for extended periods of time.
