Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanic III to join our Coil team at Baltimore Aircoil Company. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient production of coils, while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain a safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Complete coil production tasks with precision and quality, minimizing the risk of damage or defects.
  • Meet daily production goals and targets, as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Replenish supplies and materials as needed, to maintain a smooth production process.
  • Build and fabricate coils, as well as prepare them for shipment or interdepartmental delivery.
  • Assemble units and parts according to blueprints and shop drawings, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Actively learn and acquire new skills, to become a world-class mechanic and contribute to the team's success.
  • Follow all safety requirements and guidelines, regarding tools and personal protective equipment.
  • Support the highest quality standards, by actively acquiring skills and knowledge.
  • Flex to other areas of the department, as needed, demonstrating teamwork and a commitment to team success.
Requirements
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic fractional calculations.
  • Competence in reading blueprints and reference drawings.
  • Safe operation of nail guns, panel saws, miter saws, and other small power tools.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements associated with tasks and materials.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, lift trucks, and jib cranes.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for up to 80% of the time. The employee will also be required to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, sit, and reach on a regular basis. This position involves frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, and exposure to elevated noise levels, temperature fluctuations, and intermittent exposure to the weather in and around the yard and dock areas. Working hours may include any of the three shifts, with generally scheduled hours of 40 per week. Some weekend overtime is expected.
