Position Overview

The Knit Fabric Technician plays a crucial role in the textile manufacturing process, ensuring the seamless operation of knitting machinery and the production of high-quality knit samples.


Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate various knitting machines, including both circular and flat knitting equipment.
  • Maintenance: Troubleshoot and maintain all types of knitting machinery, from traditional models to advanced technology.
  • Sample Production: Independently create knit samples, optimizing machine settings to achieve quality results.
  • Sample Preparation: Duplicate samples for display or distribution, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Issue Resolution: Communicate any challenges encountered during the knitting process and assist in troubleshooting solutions.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate yarn inventory using the PickPro system, identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Winding Operations: Set up and operate yarn winding machines as needed.

Qualifications
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate equipment independently and safely.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, capable of questioning established practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities, fostering effective working relationships.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of four years of hands-on experience with flat knitting, including knowledge of knit structure analysis and machine operation.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to frequently lift items weighing between 20 to 30 pounds, with a maximum lift of 65 pounds throughout the work shift.
