Position Summary:

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in overseeing and advancing our Azure infrastructure, implementing effective Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies, and refining our CI/CD pipelines. Your deep expertise in Azure services, scripting, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) will be crucial in ensuring the resilience, reliability, and operational excellence of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Azure Infrastructure Oversight:

  • Architect, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performance Azure cloud environments.
  • Develop and sustain Azure resources such as App Services, Databases, and Networking components.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Azure services to guarantee optimal performance and availability.
  • Conduct cost management and optimization for Azure resources to meet financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to devise and implement solutions that address both current and future business requirements.

2. Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

  • Create and manage infrastructure templates utilizing IaC tools like Terraform or Bicep.
  • Develop and maintain reusable and modular code for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Adopt best practices for IaC, including version control, code reviews, and automated testing.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation in IaC practices to enhance efficiency and minimize manual tasks.

3. CI/CD Pipeline Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using YAML and Azure DevOps.
  • Automate build, test, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality software releases.
  • Implement and uphold version control best practices and branching strategies.
  • Work closely with development teams to streamline deployment processes and resolve pipeline challenges.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and best practices in CI/CD processes and configurations.

4. Scripting and Automation:

  • Develop and maintain scripts using Azure CLI and PowerShell for automation and operational tasks.
  • Create automated solutions for routine tasks, system management, and data analysis.
  • Document scripts, processes, and automation workflows comprehensively.

5. Site Reliability Engineering (SRE):

  • Apply SRE principles to enhance system reliability, availability, and performance.
  • Establish and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
  • Develop and implement incident response strategies, incident management, and post-incident reviews.
  • Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure systems meet reliability and scalability standards.

6. Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Mentor and support junior DevOps engineers, sharing best practices and guidance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Development, QA, and Security, to align on technical requirements and project objectives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and advocate for DevOps practices within the organization.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement in DevOps processes and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps or a related field with a strong emphasis on Azure infrastructure and cloud services.
  • 5+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM).
  • 5+ years of experience in CI/CD pipeline development using YAML, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.
  • 5+ years of experience in scripting and automation using Azure CLI and PowerShell.
  • 5+ years of experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including system monitoring, incident management, and performance optimization.
