Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team in the Surgical Pathology lab at the Moses campus.

• Prepare pathological slides for diagnostic procedures using state-of-the-art equipment.
• Run tissue processor to produce paraffin blocks and file them accordingly.
• Embed pathology specimens to view all layers and cut them on a rotary microtome.
• Stain routine Hematoxylin Eosin and special stains to identify organisms or specific tissue elements.
• Perform quality control to ensure high standards in the laboratory.
• Record equipment maintenance and prepare solutions for histological processing.
• Assist in Immunohistochemistry procedures and file paraffin blocks and slides.

• Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or Life Sciences required.
• New York State Department of Education Certified Histological Laboratory Technician License or a limited permit are required.
• Experience prioritizing tissue handling, sign out of cases, and troubleshooting technical procedures.
• Knowledge of histopathology techniques, immunohistochemistry techniques, and equipment used in Histology Laboratory.
