Refugee Resettlement Specialist

The Refugee Resettlement Case Manager is responsible for providing Reception and Placement (R&P) services to new refugees resettled to the Philadelphia area. The Case Manager will provide case management and extended cultural orientation support to ensure clients meet their resettlement goals within 90 days.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all core services mandated through the Department of State Cooperative Agreement are provided to clients on caseload within allocated timeframes.
Maintain a clear understanding of the procedures of the U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program specified in the MRS Connect Database.
Work with clients in caseload to develop strengths-based, goal-orientated service plans to support clients on their path to stability, self-sufficiency, and integration.
Provide comprehensive case management, including advocating for and coordinating access to benefits; connecting clients to medical care and education services; conducting home visits; and facilitating community navigation and the creation of social support networks.
Refer participants to employment services and follow up with participants and employment services to ensure job placement and retention is successful.
Maintain accurate and clear records/case files and follow-up with participants to ensure progression towards goals.
Assist eligible participants in the completion of Affidavits of Relationships and refugee interests.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with social service providers, employers, and other community partners.
Produce reports in a timely manner working within the MRIS reporting system.
Participate in staff meetings, supervision, monthly collaborative meetings, and in-service training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in social work or related field of study.
1 – 3 years of professional experience with vulnerable populations such as newly arrived immigrants, migrants, and refugees.
Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional relationship with co-workers, participants, and visitors; cultural sensitivity and the ability to relate well and effectively in a diverse workplace with a diverse client population is required.
Knowledge of social service resources and delivery systems to meet a wide range of client needs.
Access to and ability to utilize translation services to clients for whom English is not their first language.
Ability to organize, efficiently document, and routinely update information in online reporting systems.
Requires access to and use of an automobile for timely provision of community-based services.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to work with a diverse community and build collaborative relationships with a variety of community stakeholders.
Ability/Desire to work cooperatively as a team with other staff, the client, and client's circle of support.
Availability to work evenings and/or weekend hours is a must.
