Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare team.
Responsibilities- Deliver exceptional patient care by performing delegated tasks and activities related to common nursing functions and daily living.
- Assist the nursing staff in providing patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Obtain and record patient information, including vital signs, height, weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels.
- Document observations, interactions, and patient responses to performed activities.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and discharges, while maintaining proper body mechanics.
- Provide non-medicated support care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and application of heat or ice.
- Collect and transport specimens for diagnostic testing.
- Retrieve medication from the pharmacy and deliver it to licensed staff members.
- Prepare patients for surgery or other procedures.
- Assist with patient education and orientation to hospital routines.
- Perform hourly rounding and respond promptly to patient requests.
- CNA training program preferred.
- 1+ year of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
