Job Summary

Baton Rouge General is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist PRN to join our team. As a Pharmacist PRN, you will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical care to patients, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, and contributing to the quality and effective operation of the pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and dispense drug orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Ensure safe, appropriate, cost-effective drug therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Contribute to the quality and effective operation of the department through supervision of pharmacy support personnel.
  • Help ensure compliance with accreditation standards and with federal, state, and local regulations related to the practice of pharmacy.
  • Responsible for the development and use of technology and automation used in providing quality pharmaceutical care services.
  • Maintain competency required for current job title/position.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Hospital experience preferred.
  • BS Pharmacy.
  • Current Louisiana license.
  • Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position.
  • Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position.
