Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction
    • Plan and deliver lectures, labs, and clinical instruction to students in the Practical Nursing program.
    • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students and the nursing profession.
    • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  • Program Development and Assessment
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of the nursing program.
    • Participate in program assessment and evaluation activities.
    • Help to identify and address program strengths and weaknesses.
  • Student Support and Services
    • Provide academic advising and support to students.
    • Help students to develop their skills and knowledge in the nursing profession.
    • Encourage student participation and engagement in the learning process.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay current with developments in the nursing profession and incorporate best practices into teaching and instruction.

Qualifications
  • Education
    • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited university or college.
    • A minimum of one year of clinical experience in the area or areas of teaching responsibility.
  • Licensure and Certification
    • SD Registered Nursing license.
    • Driver's license.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Proficient in skills as they relate to the program's operations.
    • Ability to work well under pressure.
    • Ability to take the initiative.
    • Fundamentals of classroom management.
    • Ability to adhere to WDTC policies and procedures.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in all group sizes.
    • Ability to demonstrate expertise in project management and problem-solving.
