Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Gas Department Manager to join our team at QuickChek. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring our customers receive exceptional service when making fuel purchases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Achieve and maintain high customer service standards, ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
  • Staff Management: Lead, develop, and train Gas Team Members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Cash Control: Maintain accurate cash handling and control procedures to minimize losses and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Competition Awareness: Stay informed about competitor pricing and market trends to make informed decisions about fuel pricing and promotions.
  • Training and Development: Ensure all Gas Team Members receive comprehensive training on fuel management, customer service, and company policies.
  • Recognition and Coaching: Recognize and reward team members for their achievements and provide coaching and feedback to help them improve their performance.
  • Department Maintenance: Ensure the exterior grounds and department meet company standards, including cleanliness, safety, and appearance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and safely, and address any maintenance or repair issues promptly.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in fuel management or a related field.
  • Self-Motivation: Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Math Skills: Strong basic math skills, with the ability to accurately handle cash and make change.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, bend, squat, twist, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds, with occasional exposure to cold temperatures and varying weather conditions.

QuickChek and Murphy USA consider a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions, including experience, skill sets, training, licensure and certifications, education, as well as business and organizational needs. The listed range is specific to the base hourly rate or annual salary and does not include additional benefits, perks, or bonus eligibility (when applicable) comprising the total benefits package.
