Job Title: Structural Engineer

Design and Build Recruitment is seeking a talented and experienced Structural Engineer to join their team in the Water sector.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Structural Engineer to manage complex engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a wide range of civil structural, commercial, and building projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Oversee project budgets and schedules, ensuring adherence to financial and time constraints.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with team members and external consultants to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, contracts, and other necessary documentation.
  • Review and approve project drawings and engineering calculations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and codes.
  • Conduct site inspections and structural assessments, providing repair recommendations based on structural integrity analysis.
  • Drive business development by securing project work with new and existing clients through tendering, bidding, and proposal development.
  • Foster positive client relationships and promote the company's services and values.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the company's systems of work, including quality management, environmental management, occupational health and safety, and risk management frameworks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years local experience.
  • Proven experience managing engineering projects from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated business development skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to upholding professional standards and ethical practices.
