Job Title: Early Childhood Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at the Jefferson City School District. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our young students and helping them develop a lifelong love of learning.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the district's curriculum, designing engaging activities, and actively engaging in professional development activities. You will also be expected to use a variety of educational techniques to instruct students, facilitate their social skills, self-esteem, self-regulation, and academics, and inspire them to communicate with each other in a friendly and positive manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement district curriculum and design engaging activities to promote active learning.
  • Actively engage in professional development activities to stay up-to-date with the latest education theories and practices.
  • Use a variety of educational techniques to instruct students, including storytelling, playing games, and media presentations.
  • Facilitate the development of children's social skills, self-esteem, self-regulation, and academics.
  • Supervise students during classroom instructional activities, meals, recess, snack time, and rest time.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information.
  • Evaluate students' academic, communication, and social growth, and keep appropriate records for progress monitoring.
  • Ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, paraprofessionals, and administration to achieve common goals.
  • Directly supervise a classroom aide/paraprofessional.
  • Collaborate with special education staff to support students with IEPs to address individual needs.
  • Participate in required meetings, committees, and school activities.
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards and policies of the Jefferson City Public Schools.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in education.
  • Current Early Childhood Teacher Certification (B-3).
  • In-depth knowledge of child development and latest education theories and practices.
  • Must enjoy working with children.
  • Creative teaching abilities.
  • Patience and flexibility.
  • Believe in positive behavior supports for student success.
  • Possess outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
