Singing River Health System Clinic | Full-Time | Monday through Friday 8-5pm |
Position Overview
The Practical Nursing Specialist delivers proficient technical nursing services to patients in accordance with established protocols and a care plan devised by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician.
Assumes additional responsibilities as required.This role adheres to the Mississippi Nurse Practice Act, the CDC Guidelines for Infection Control, and the Singing River Health System Nursing Plan for Care, Treatment, and Services.
Performance evaluations are conducted based on these established standards.Educational Requirements
Completion of an accredited practical nursing program. Current licensure in Mississippi as a Licensed Practical Nurse. The LPN must hold Mississippi Board of Nursing licensure for expanded role practice.
Certification Requirements
BCLS certification is mandatory.
Professional Experience
Relevant nursing practice or experience within the last three (3) years is required.
Physical Demands:
This position involves regular mobility within the office and facility, as well as travel to other locations within the service area.
It requires the ability to exert a moderate amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including patients.
Repetitive Motion Requirements:
Significant movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers while utilizing standard office equipment such as computer keyboards, copiers, and 10-key devices.
Ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels, with or without correction, and to make fine discriminations in sound.
Requires close visual acuity and the capacity to adjust focus, such as shifting gaze from a computer monitor to printed materials for data comparison.
Cognitive Demands
Must exhibit strong mental faculties, assessment skills, and decision-making capabilities. Effective communication and enunciation skills are essential for conveying and receiving information in person and via telephone. Emotional stability is crucial for managing moderate stress levels while maintaining composure.
Additional Requirements
A valid driver’s license is necessary as the role may involve travel throughout the service area. Proficiency in general computer skills is required, with a preference for basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
