The Emergency Department at Albany Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center and a regional referral center for acute care. As a Registered Professional Nurse, you will be a vital member of our team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and coordinating the needs of assigned patients throughout their episode of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
  • Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
  • Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
  • Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department, preferably in a large academic, Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
  • Ability to improve job performance through continuing education.
  • Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
