Job Description

Overview: As a Recreation Therapist at Rogers Behavioral Health, you will have the opportunity to plan and facilitate engaging leisure and recreational groups for patients and residents. Your expertise in recreation therapy will help create a safe and enjoyable environment for participants to socialize, learn new skills, and achieve personal growth.

Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Recreation Therapist to join our Experiential Therapy department. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing leisure programs, conducting groups, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. You will work closely with other team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to patients and residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct leisure programs for patients and residents, including stretching, fitness, games, yoga, sports, and arts and crafts.
  • Coordinate programming to meet patient/resident interests and abilities.
  • Complete documentation for patient groups, including progress notes and evaluation reports.
  • Maintain the safety and equipment standards of the Experiential Therapy department.
  • Be flexible with work assignments, including schedule changes and program additions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as recreation or physical education.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
  • Formal training in management of aggressive patients.
