Glens Falls Hospital is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Registered Nurse with leadership experience to join as our next Nurse Manager.

This opportunity will open a pathway for you to hone your skills in operational management and allow you to play a key role in bolstering the continuous improvement effort in the Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) and throughout the organization.

The Role

You will be responsible for providing overall clinical and operational management during hours of operation. Your strong leadership, managerial skills, communication, and collaborative skills will be critical in providing quality patient care and safeguarding an environment that fosters staff growth and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the clinical and environmental operations of the unit or service line.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate systems to support quality and safe patient care.
  • Make staffing decisions and facilitate the delivery of care in the event of staff absence.
  • Review patient surveys and feedback and create action plans to address patient satisfaction issues.
  • Monitor and report required volume data.

Management, Leadership, and Development of Staff:

  • Demonstrate principles of evidence-based leadership.
  • Manage all aspects of the staff, including hiring, supervising, counseling, professional development, discipline, and competency/performance evaluation.
  • Coordinate the orientation process of new staff in collaboration with the educator/CNS.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and acts as a role model and mentor.

Other Management Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the annual budget.
  • Develop and implement action plans in response to variances.
  • Initiate investigations/reviews and create action plans in response to incidents and patient/customer concerns.
  • Communicate significant information to key stakeholders and staff in a timely and appropriate manner.

Qualifications

Education/Accredited Programs:

  • Graduation from a Registered Professional Nursing program required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred.

Experience/Skills/Abilities:

  • 3 years relevant clinical experience required (5 Years preferred).
  • Previous nursing management experience preferred.
  • High emotional intelligence required.
  • Basic understanding of principles of performance improvement and use of data to improve outcomes.

Licenses/Certificates/Registrations:

  • Current Registered Nursing license in the state of New York required.
  • Certification in nursing leadership preferred; required within 2 years of eligibility.

About the Opportunity

This position offers a competitive salary range of $86,718 - $129,791 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, Glens Falls Hospital provides valuable benefits offerings to its employees.
