Job Overview

The Senior Food Service Supervisor is responsible for the daily preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch in accordance with the established menu. This role involves coordinating all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve daily meals while ensuring adherence to the production schedule.
  • Delegate cleaning tasks, including the sanitation of equipment and work areas, as well as dishwashing duties.
  • Set up the service line and prepare show plates for presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the service line and remind students to choose healthy options from the salad bar.
  • Monitor and record internal and holding temperatures on designated charts.
  • Manage daily cash transactions, ensuring accurate reconciliation of the POS system and completion of deposits.
  • Organize and clean walk-in refrigeration and freezer units on a weekly basis.
  • Oversee the ordering and receipt of food, beverages, and supplies as per the menu requirements.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and conduct monthly safety inspections.
  • Prepare weekly food orders by reviewing production records, inventory, and recipes for accuracy.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills to guide kitchen staff and foster a positive work environment.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of all mandated training as required by Whitsons.
  • ServSafe Certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional food service experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English to understand job assignments.
  • Basic knowledge of cooking principles and recipe yield.
  • Positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Enjoyment of working with children and adaptability to changing environments.
  • Proficiency in basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Physical capability to lift and move up to 40 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods.
  • Experience in cashiering, cooking, and kitchen sanitation practices.
