Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Therapist to join our team in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field and experience in healthcare and psychiatric settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide social services to patients and their families/significant others
  • Provide therapeutic treatment services to individuals, groups, families, and/or significant others
  • Assess for safety daily and provide crisis intervention services as needed
  • Interact with patients, family members, significant others, and referents with respect and dignity
  • Participate in psychoeducational support sessions with patient/family/significant others
  • Provide case management and therapeutic interventions to assigned patients
  • Serve as patient advocate when a patient has a grievance, following System policy and procedure
  • Document progress according to the treatment plan
  • Complete discharge documentation as required and on time
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited school
  • Experience in healthcare and psychiatric settings
  • Working knowledge of therapeutic intervention and techniques for all age groups
  • Ability to work in an acute care setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Formal training in the management of aggressive patients
  • Bi-annual re-certification in American Red Cross Professional Rescue
  • Annual re-certification in formal training in the management of aggressive patients
