Job Summary

College of the Canyons is seeking highly qualified adjunct faculty members to join our Chinese Language department. As an adjunct instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the academic excellence of our institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Chinese language courses at the college level, including introductory and advanced courses
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote academic growth
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum, ensuring alignment with departmental and institutional goals
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees to contribute to the development of academic policies and programs
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Chinese or a related field (or equivalent)
  • California Community College Instructor Credential in Chinese (or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching Chinese language courses at the college level
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
  • Ability to adapt to changing curriculum and instructional needs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Chinese or a related field
  • Experience with curriculum development and instructional design
  • Knowledge of educational technologies and their application in language instruction
  • Fluency in multiple languages, including English and Chinese
