Telecommunications Lineman

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Telecommunications Lineman to join our team at Star Construction, LLC. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for installing and repairing aerial telecommunications cable, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our services.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable, adhering to established procedures and techniques.
• Safely operate mechanized equipment, such as bucket trucks and digger derricks, to facilitate cable installation and repair.
• Set up safety perimeters, using signage, cones, and safety barriers, to ensure a secure working environment.
• Flag traffic when required, ensuring the safety of both our crew and the general public.
• Understand and comply with separation and clearance regulations, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our services.
• Safely work aloft, using climbing hooks and ladders, to access and repair aerial cable.
• Flexibility to work in multiple locations, adapting to changing project requirements and priorities.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card.
• A valid, unrestricted driver's license (Commercial driver's license preferred but not required).
• An MVR record that is deemed acceptable by the company.
• Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques.
• Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Splicing of active and passive equipment.
• Able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction, including pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction.

Physical Abilities and Exposures

• Routinely: Climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet, lift/carry 50 lbs, arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle and equipment, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, and walk outdoors for extended periods of time. Set up and maintain safe work areas in all weather conditions. Perform work on uneven ground and terrain.
• Occasionally: Lift up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $21.00-$24.00 per hour, based on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including:
