Instructional Leader, Early Childhood Education

Job Summary:

The Instructional Leader at InsideHigherEd's Early Learning Center is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the designated classroom.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum for the assigned class in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the Early Learning Center.
  • Manage the program to meet the needs of individual children, considering their interests, cultural backgrounds, and socioeconomic status.
  • Treat all children, families, and colleagues with dignity and respect.
  • Help children develop an awareness of their roles as integral members of a group.
  • Be responsible for the arrangement, appearance, décor, routine housekeeping, and overall learning environment of the assigned classroom.
  • Provide guidance and direction for assigned Assistant Teachers, Student Teachers, and Volunteers within the classroom environment.
  • Assist the Director with explaining the Center's program to visitors and fostering positive parent-teacher relationships.
  • Attend all staff meetings and required annual training.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

The ideal candidate must be professionally prepared as a teacher of young children, with expertise in developmentally appropriate curriculum and the ability to meet all State of Ohio licensing requirements.

This individual must be a sensitive and mature person who can relate well to both children and adults, and possess the personality and ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity.
