Firefighter Trainee

Cffjac is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Firefighter Trainee to join our team. As a Firefighter Trainee, you will participate in the Firefighter Academy training program and perform all related learning and testing activities in preparation for the Firefighter/Engineer classification within the Fire Department.

• Participate in the Firefighter Academy training program and complete all required coursework and training activities.
• Perform physical tasks and work in various environments, including emergency response situations.
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of fire safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
• Collaborate with other emergency responders to provide effective and efficient emergency services.
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of fire department policies and procedures.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D. or California Certificate of Proficiency).
• Possession of a valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or a valid Paramedic certification.
• Proof of a valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) dated within 12 months prior to appointment.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license.
• To be eligible for this recruitment, candidates must be on the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center's (FCTC) Statewide Eligibility List (SEL).

The Firefighter Trainee will work in a fast-paced emergency response environment, requiring the ability to perform physical tasks and work in various environments. The Firefighter Trainee must be able to pass a pre-employment medical exam according to the standards set by The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) and must be free from color blindness.
