LPN - BHS Fastercare - Casual

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Fastercare. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the LPN Practice Act, hospital and/or physician practice policies, procedures, protocols, and other professional standards of care.
• Collect patient health care data, including vital signs, weight, chief complaint, and pain assessment, focusing on the physical, psychosocial, age, cultural, and spiritual needs of the patient.
• Administer medications/immunizations using appropriate routes and techniques specific to the patient's age.
• Comply with completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of documentation.
• Provide education and instruction to patients and families within your scope of practice.
• Assist in assessing the patient's educational needs and identifying educational barriers.
• Maintain a collaborative relationship with physicians to achieve desired patient outcomes.
• Prepare patients for examination, treatments, and procedures.
• Assist the physician with treatments and procedures as requested.
• Provide for patient safety in compliance with hospital and physician practice policies.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
• Current licensure to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program.
• Act 33 with renewal.
• Act 34 with renewal.
• Act 73 FBI Clearance.

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changing situations. The incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need and will be required to rotate shifts, work standby, and be on-call. Travel between Fastercare locations is also required.

The incumbent will be exposed to various physical and environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, heights, confined spaces, and mechanical hazards. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain situations.

The incumbent will be required to lift, carry, and transfer patients, as well as push and pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds. The use of lifting and transfer devices is required when lifting requirements exceed 50 pounds.

The incumbent will be required to work in a variety of settings, including patient care areas, offices, and other areas of the hospital or physician practice.

The incumbent will be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
