About the Role

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our imaging department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations using ultrasound equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data.
  • Produce diagnostic images using Doppler, abdominal, or pregnancy ultrasound.
  • Select transducers and adjust equipment controls according to organ to be examined, depth of field, and other specifications of the test.
  • Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns.
  • Key test data and patient information into computer to maintain a record of test results.
  • Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided biopsies and/or invasive procedures.
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate as appropriate using computerized documentation systems.
  • Utilize knowledge of age-specific needs of patients in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
  • Orient and mentor new staff members.
  • Provide a safe environment for administering contrast material.
  • Assist with transporting patients.
  • Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Ultrasonography certification.
  • Sonography certification.
  • Associate Degree.
