Job Title: Certified Police Officer

The City of Jonesboro is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Certified Police Officer. As a key member of our law enforcement team, you will play a vital role in maintaining public safety and security in our community.

Job Summary:

This is an entry-level position that requires a strong commitment to serving and protecting our citizens. As a Certified Police Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, preventing crime, and providing emergency services to the public. You will work closely with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to build trust and foster positive relationships.

Responsibilities:
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance to citizens in need.
  • Investigate crimes and gather evidence to support prosecutions.
  • Testify in court as a witness or to defend charges.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to stay up-to-date on the latest law enforcement techniques and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid Georgia Peace Officer Standard Training Certification.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation, polygraph examination, and psychological evaluation.
  • Must be certified in the use of firearms.
  • Valid Class M Georgia Driver's License required.
