Position Overview

AECOM is looking for a Junior Civil Engineer to support our Environmental Services team, focusing on projects related to Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) within the power sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop analytical and design capabilities.
  • Assist in engineering design under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Create technical drawings, calculations, and diagrams as directed.
  • Gather and interpret data under supervision.
  • Utilize software tools to address fundamental engineering challenges.
  • Ensure project tasks are completed within budget and timelines.
  • Provide CAD support for various environmental facilities.
  • Draft site layouts, drainage systems, and utility designs using software such as AutoCAD and Civil3D.
  • Contribute to report writing and collaborate with a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Apply relevant regulations to establish project design standards.
  • Compile and organize project documentation, including maps and hydrologic data.
  • Integrate project criteria into civil design and layouts.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate conditions and requirements.
  • Implement standard practices while seeking ways to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records review is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in civil engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil3D for civil engineering applications.
  • Experience with HydroCAD.
  • Knowledge in site development and stormwater management.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently within project timelines.
