Role Summary
Axia Women's Health is recognized as a leading provider in women's healthcare, and we are currently seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our dynamic practice.
- Our practice consists of three healthcare providers, including two OB/GYN specialists and one Physician Assistant.
- The CNM will primarily operate in our Roseland location, with occasional responsibilities at our West Orange site.
- We offer a flexible daytime schedule, with office hours from 7 AM to 5 PM and a manageable number of daytime call shifts each week.
Affiliated Hospital:
St. Barnabas Medical Center - Livingston
- Features a Level III NICU
- Provides 24-hour Anesthesia services
- Includes specialists in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, and Reproductive Endocrinology
- Involves collaboration with resident physicians
The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will be responsible for evaluating selected patients within the designated service area. Key responsibilities include:
- Adhering to established protocols for CNM practice in alignment with company policies and legal standards.
- Conducting thorough assessments of patients, including comprehensive history taking and physical examinations.
- Implementing systematic data collection focused on the physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive aspects of patient care.
- Collaborating with supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals based on patient needs and assessment results.
- Engaging with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care aligned with established quality indicators.
- Reviewing medical records for follow-up and ordering diagnostic tests as per established guidelines.
- Building effective relationships with healthcare team members, patients, and their families.
- Applying safety principles in all aspects of practice.
- Responding effectively in emergency situations, following established protocols.
- Understanding legal considerations, including patient confidentiality and risk management.
- Exhibiting a service-oriented approach in all interactions.
- Demonstrating proficiency in utilizing technology for documentation and communication.
- Participating in on-call duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Possession of an active, unrestricted CNM license in New Jersey, along with CDS and DEA certifications, or the ability to obtain them.
- A minimum of one year of full-scope midwifery experience is required.
- Eligibility to participate in state programs, including Medicare and Medicaid.
